RAILWAYS IN OLD PLYMOUTH |
LAUNCESTON BRANCH YELVERTON TUNNEL Yelverton Tunnel, at 7 miles 49½ chains mile post mileage from Tavistock Junction on the Launceston Branch, is reputed to be 641 yards long. These dimensions cannot be guaranteed. The Tunnel was so straight that the daylight at the Horrabridge end could be seen from Yelverton Station. This was very useful when walking through it. |
