WEST HOE BRANCH POST OFFICE

In 1889 the West Hoe Branch Post Office at number 27 West Hoe Road was also a Money Order Office, a Savings Bank, and an Annuity and Insurance Office.  The Post Master was Mr William Robert Smith, who was also a confectioner.

Letters were collected at 9.20am, 10.40am, 12.55pm, 2.10pm, 4.30pm, 6.45pm, 7.45pm, 9.30pm, and at 1140pm.  There were only two collections on a Sunday, at 6.45pm and at 11.40pm.
