THE EXCHANGE BRANCH POST OFFICE

In 1878 The Exchange Branch Post Office was also a Money Order Office, a Savings Bank, an Annuity and Insurance Office and a Telegraph Office.

Letters were collected at 1am (Tuesdays to Saturdays only),  7.40am, 9.50am, 1.30pm, 4.50pm, 6pm and at 9.05pm on weekdays.  There was only one collection on a Sunday, at 6.30pm.

In 1889 letters were collected at 7.40am, 9.50am, 11.10am, 1.25pm, 2.40pm, 4.55pm, 7.05pm, 8.15pm, 10pm and at 11.15pm.  There were only two collections on a Sunday, at 7.05pm and at 11.15pm.
