COMPTON GIFFORD BRANCH POST OFFICE

In 1889 the Compton Gifford Branch Post Office, at number 1 Ivy Cottages, Lower Compton Road, was also a Money Order Office, and a Savings Bank.  The Post Mistress was Mrs Elizabeth Yates.

Letters were collected at 8.40am, 1.05pm, and at 6.10pm.  There were only two collections on a Sunday, at 8.40am and at 6pm.
